PRE-ACADEMY

This program is designed to be a stepping-stone to Competitive soccer from Recreational soccer. 

It covers ages 6-10. The most successful program in the Charlotte area that helps your child get the skills and knowledge needed to move on to Club soccer in the future.  Many of our ex Pre-Academy/Club players have gone on to D1 College & MLS professional teams after starting at Strikers/Pre-Academy and playing through our club teams. Tryouts are held twice a year in January and May.  January tryouts help form the Spring season. May tryouts will help form the Fall Season.

Games are 7v7 on Strikers larger field. These games are on Saturdays or Sunday afternoons.

Although teams are formed, the emphasis is on developing all players in the program individually. To help with that, full time Youth Development Licensed Coach Russell Steedman runs the program in order to help and evaluate every individual and put them in the correct levels to succeed and love them game. He assists with practices and oversee the games. Russell will evaluate all players by the Seasons end and advise on the next step for your child.

In addition, opportunities will be offered to select players from our Under-8 age group to take part in our US Club Soccer Team (4 or 5 games taking place in Huntersville on Saturday mornings.) This is a great way for the players to get a taste of Club/travel soccer. 

Spring season runs from mid February until late April. Fall goes from late August until the beginning of November.

There is a separate league for girls and boys.
